You know how people always say that they try to help the environment whenever they can? Like, that holiday that is once a year where “no one” drives their car. This does not help the environment. Sorry to burst your bubble, but one day out of 365, doesn’t really do any difference to save the world. Global warming is real and it’s happening everywhere. You’ve heard of the weather all over the world causing death and destruction, but is it all just a coincidence?
For my entire life, my family has never owned a car. When people hear this, they think, “Wow, how do they do that? I guess they’re just one of those weird families that seems they can do anything,” or “Maybe they don’t get to do as much.” But really, we’ve just committed to it, and after awhile we learn how to “survive.” It’s really not as bad as you’d think. The public transportation in our town, WTA, runs fairly often during the day which makes it easy to get from place to place. Sure, it’s awkward sometimes when you’re going to a friend’s birthday party and the bus doesn’t go that far, but you can always call people and carpool with them, or ride your bike if it’s nice. I’d say that the hardest part about riding your bike, bussing, or walking everywhere, is starting. They say that it takes twenty days to make a habit. So, after twenty days, see where you are.
Some people work somewhere where they have to wear a suit and they feel like they have to drive to work. If this is like you, then see if you can start working toward not driving everyday. Just go step by step and soon you’ll be well on your way to making a change in this world. If you still feel like you’ve tried taking the bus or your bike, and this causes you to be late or get sweaty, try it again! Bring extra clothes, or look at the schedule more closely! There’s a way to do everything. Of course, just one person out of seven billion can’t really make all the difference. But make sure to never give up! Just because nobody else does it, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t keep trying.
Everyone can start making a difference. If you start, other people will follow. If you make it clear that you want change our earth, you have to do it! You can’t just talk to other people about how our planet is in a horrible state and not do anything about it. You have to act. Limiting your electricity and gasoline will help. If you make smart decisions by not turning the heat on when you’re in shorts and a t-shirt, it will not only help save ene
Global Warming is real. Don’t try to hide it. If you want to help, reduce your driving and electricity. Once you stop driving all the time, it’s easy. Try to explain to other people that you don’t have to drive everyday to get places. Make your voice clear and save our planet!
